How Old Are You?

How you are reacting and responding to the things going on in your life & the world right now?

As a human being, trying to navigate your way through it all - inevitably you’re going to have specific situations, certain someone’s, and shocking scenarios that sneak up and push your button… and BAM! All of a sudden you find yourself feeling hurt, angry, scared, sad, confused, alone, etc.

It can often leave us wondering, “What the actual heck? Why am I reacting or sometimes overreacting to this person, place, problem or post?”

When a current day happening stirs up unresolved things, when the ego-mind trolls through your past history and dredges up old stories and unhealed traumas, and you find yourself feeling “triggered” - one of the most powerful questions you can ask yourself is, “How old am I right now?”

In those moments when we feel “set off” by our surroundings or circumstances, it’s wicked important to understand that those strong emotions are not coming from a “bad” place or because we’re a “bad” person. But rather, they’re emanating from a deep wound that’s been bypassed, neglected, or perhaps never fully treated. It’s coming up out of the dark and into the light because it’s in need of healing.

A healing that can only be found in our willingness to take a fearless moral inventory, stand in our own discomfort and surrender all of the hurtful thoughts and emotions into the arms of Love and Divine understanding.

Today on The Karen Kenney Show, we’re looking at where our true emotions and feelings are arising from and what we can do to heal those old hurts and traumas, so that we can show up wholly and completely as who we’re called to be.

In order to face our fears and make lasting change for the better, when you feel your not-so-soothing reactions come up - stop, go within and ask yourself, “How Old Are You?”
