SOMETHING LOVES ME

On this episode of The Karen Kenney Show, I tell a personal story that exemplifies the concept of "Spiritual Team on the Job" (STOTJ).

I'll recount a series of events - that lead to a wicked fun ending - that are linked together through a chain of unlikely occurrences.

We talk about how having a Daily Spiritual Practice (DSP) has helped me to stay present, reduce anxiety, and maintain the “faith” - even during challenging times.

I also share about recognizing synchronistic "STOTJ" moments, and how I experience them as evidence that something loves me.

I touch upon the power of positive self-talk and how I now recognize that negative self-talk, is really an “internalized voice” from my childhood that never really belonged to me.

I also dive into how personal development work is not so much about becoming something new...

But rather it's about removing the barriers that prevent us from recognizing the Love we already are and the support we already have.

I wrap this episode up with the importance of Spiritual Community and the benefits and value of being part of a group like The Nest!

Karen Kenney:

It's the Karen Kenney show. Hey you guys, welcome to the Karen Kenney show. I'm super duper excited for this episode, because I'm gonna be sharing a

Karen Kenney:

little fun story, a fun little light story that happened to me, and even though the story is personal, as always on the Karen Kenney show, anything that I share, even if

Karen Kenney:

it starts as a personal story, I'm sharing it because it's applicably Universal, right? And this is, this is what good stories do, is even though they're personal, other

Karen Kenney:

people can often say like me too, or they can see themselves in or they'll be like, Oh, my God, that happened like to me. And there's always also, of course, a spiritual

Karen Kenney:

concept or a tool or an idea or a principle or something that I'm sharing because, hello, I'm a spiritual mentor, right? This is what I do, is I help people to deepen

Karen Kenney:

their relationship to self, source and spirit, however they define those things. So if you've been listening to my show, or you've worked with me one to one, or you're

Karen Kenney:

in my spiritual mentoring group, the nest, or you've just been around in my world for a while, you have heard me at some point talk about spiritual teams, or you've heard me

Karen Kenney:

say the phrase s t o t j, spiritual team on the job. So this is like a little phrase in kind of my culture, or the people who are in the nest, when something happens, they'll

Karen Kenney:

just be like, Oh my god, s t o t j, right. And so it's kind of a way that we let each other know that something happened. Now, some people might consider the story that

Karen Kenney:

I'm about to tell you. Some people might call it a coincidence, or a coincidence or synchronicity. You could call it whatever you want to call it. For me, I always say

Karen Kenney:

it's S, T, o, t, j, and really, I'll just, here's the thing. I'll just tell you the story, and you can take from it what you will. But then I'll break down a little bit

Karen Kenney:

deeper how it could be applicable in your own life, or maybe you'll relate and say, oh my god, something similar, or whatever happened to me too. So let me just kind of

Karen Kenney:

set, set the scene. So I had a show. I well, I still am. I'm healing from a shoulder injury. That's why I like to say it. I don't like to say I have a shoulder injury,

Karen Kenney:

because I me who I really am beyond the body, right? Who I really am as a spiritual being is just fine. It's my body, actually, that is, that is experiencing something

Karen Kenney:

funky in my shoulder, but the subconscious is really I'm just taking a little detour. I'm just taking a little detail for a second. So stay with me. But the

Karen Kenney:

subconscious is always listening. And the subconscious in the body, right? The body has its own story to tell, and the subconscious is always listening. And words

Karen Kenney:

have power. So I try not to say things like I'm sick or I'm anxious or I, you know, I don't like to say I am and then put something after that that is not helpful to

Karen Kenney:

me. So I would rather say things like I'm healing from my body is healing from a shoulder injury. That's a more. That's probably the most precise way for me to say

Karen Kenney:

it, because I don't like to claim like I am sick, or I am this right, or when I even have to catch myself sometimes, and I'm like, I have IBS. It's like, Well, I think

Karen Kenney:

my body, in my nervous system, is still processing sometimes, right, some of the stuff that went down in my childhood. So my body, my body has IBS. Me, who I am, is one

Karen Kenney:

of God's kids as like spiritual being is doing just fine, but my body's still working out some kinks, and that's okay. It's perfectly okay. So anyways, but I've had

Karen Kenney:

this I am my body is healing from the shoulder injury, so I've been having a wearing my sling during the day to keep my arms still so I'm not just flipping it

Karen Kenney:

around and not hurting myself when I'm at work and stuff like that. And this is part of the story, because I showed up for my yoga class the other night, right? And there

Karen Kenney:

were just a series of things that were happening at my yoga class. Number one, I can't use my right arm, so I already knew I couldn't do at the end of class, there's a

Karen Kenney:

head massage that I give everybody, little arm and head massage, and I call it the Wu Ji Woogie. I was already annoyed because I wouldn't be able to give everybody the would

Karen Kenney:

you wish you, which I have been doing for like, 20 plus years, you know? So I was like, Okay, no, Wuji, wishy, fine. Now I'm carrying my bag that has my big speaker in

Karen Kenney:

it for music at the end of class in shavasana, and my papers of like, class attendance, all that shits in the bag. I got that on my left arm, I got my keys in my

Karen Kenney:

pocket, and I'm like, Okay, I didn't even bring my water up because I couldn't carry everything. And I was like, Fine, whatever. And I get upstairs, and it was literally

Karen Kenney:

just a series of events. So the building that I hold my yoga class in. Is an old elementary school, so it's a really cool building, and it's now like a little

Karen Kenney:

community art center. So there's like a daycare in the basement, where the calf well, not in the basement, but there's a daycare down where, like the cafeteria was.

Karen Kenney:

There's like a dance studio on the first floor, a photography studio. There's people, a woman, and I think, I don't know if they're friends or whatever, and they have a

Karen Kenney:

whole like sewing, like quilting, whatever room. And then there's also another Yoga Studio in the basement. And then up on the second floor, there's, like, a lawyer's

Karen Kenney:

office. There's a, I don't know if they're in Congress or senator, there's somebody up there. And then there's also our yoga studio, okay? So it's not my studio. I just,

Karen Kenney:

like, rent the space from the person. So we get there, all right, I'm already, like, down, and I'm down, and I'm carrying this big ass bag. I get upstairs and I open the

Karen Kenney:

door of the studio now, because you got to imagine an old elementary school, right? So there's these big ass heat is like that. You know, the old radiators like all around the

Karen Kenney:

room. Now, in the winter it is toasty. It is toasty in there. It's fantastic. But sometimes in the in between season, as we're moving in, it can be a little chilly, but

Karen Kenney:

when I open the door, I'm like, oh my god, it's really cold in here. It's not even chilly. I'm like, this is cold. And I see all the space heaters are out. I'm like,

Karen Kenney:

here we go. Here we go. Then you have to go through this, like, whole thing, not, not look my, my students don't have to deal with this. This is all me. They just come in, put

Karen Kenney:

their stuff down, get ready. But it's me doing the long math in my head, like, Oh my God. Because here's the other thing, it's an old building. So if you plug in, like too

Karen Kenney:

many, too many of the the heat is then you blow a fuse, right? So just imagine it was like one thing after another, and I just, I just had it. I had just kind of had it with

Karen Kenney:

just the whole day, with my arm, you know, with the pain in my with the heat. So I find out, basically, the heat is the heat is broken, so the landlord has to, like, fix

Karen Kenney:

the heat. It's this whole thing, okay, so as I'm leaving, I leave, and my sweetie is trying to make it easy on me, so he orders us some vegan pizzas that I'm now going to

Karen Kenney:

pick up after class. And that's the other reason why I'm like, I'm not bringing my water bottle, I'm not doing X, Y and Z, because I know I'm going to have to carry

Karen Kenney:

these freaking pizzas like out to the car with one arm, right? So you can imagine, right? So I survived yoga class. Everybody said it was a great class. It was fine. Oh,

Karen Kenney:

but we had a drop in. Okay, that was, that's, this is key to the story. I had a drop in student, and she paid for the drop in with a check, and I put the check in my

Karen Kenney:

pocket of my hoodie along with my keys. Now you can already, you can already probably start to guess, like, what happened. So I go, and I go to pick up the pizzas, and

Karen Kenney:

because I'm doing everything with a sling on in one arm. I think what happened is, when I pulled my keys out of my pocket, the check must have fallen, but it's doc out, and I

Karen Kenney:

can't really move well, and I didn't see it. I didn't notice it. I get the pizzas. I get in the car, I get home, and I get my, you know, my sweetie gets the pizzas from me. I

Karen Kenney:

pull my, I pull my my keys out, and I'm like, Huh? And I just stopped patting everything down, and I'm like, Oh my God. I'm like, sweetie, I think I dropped the

Karen Kenney:

check, and just like everything in my body just contracted. I was like, No, right now, of course, a couple of things start to happen in my brain. I literally hear like

Karen Kenney:

that old, old and this is why I talk about how the subconscious is always listening, right? The subconscious is always listening, so in my brain I hear, you know, how can you

Karen Kenney:

be so stupid or whatever? Now, the interesting thing about this is I have learned over the years that that's not my voice. That's an old voice that belongs to

Karen Kenney:

my stepfather. So when I hear that kind of hashness towards myself, I pump the brakes immediately, and I'm like, no, no, no, we're not doing that anymore. We don't play that

Karen Kenney:

tape anymore. That doesn't even belong to me, that wasn't even mine, that was somebody who hot potatoed me their their trauma and their bullshit, right? And what was said to

Karen Kenney:

them as a kid. And I'm like, I don't have to keep playing that tape. So I stopped that, and I said, Okay, look, it was extenuating circumstances. But I feel bad because now

Karen Kenney:

I'm like, Oh my God, this woman came to the class and the room was cold and, you know, and that never happens. It was just like one thing after it was like, a steamroll of

Karen Kenney:

like, like, a ball of shit rolling downhill that was just gaining speed, right? And I was like, No, so I

Karen Kenney:

felt bad, and I'm like, now I'm gonna have to call this woman and tell her that I'd lost her check. And I was so nervous, because if it was one of my checks, that's

Karen Kenney:

one thing, it would be, be my bank information on there, but it was somebody else's. I was just like, Oh my God. And I just felt really bad. And so I said to my

Karen Kenney:

sweetie, and I talked about it, and I said, Well, there's nothing I can do other than going back to look for it. And it was already late at night, so I was like, maybe

Karen Kenney:

I'll go back in the morning and see if I can find it. But the ground was wet. There was all these things. And I was just like, Okay, so that's the setup. Okay? I try to let it

Karen Kenney:

go. I realized, you know, worrying doesn't change anything. And then we started watching, you know, TV, and like, in the middle of one of the shows, I just paused

Karen Kenney:

the show, and I said, turn to my sweet. I said, Man, that check is really bothering me. And it wasn't about like, the, you know, the 25 bucks. It's like, I'll eat the money.

Karen Kenney:

I wasn't going to make the woman, like, pay me again. It was my fault the whole thing. But I felt really bad that her, you know, check might be out there somewhere. And even

Karen Kenney:

though I know nobody can go and cash it or whatever, people could try to do something. But, you know, anyhow, and I, after I said that to him, I was like, You know what? I

Karen Kenney:

just gotta, I've just gotta accept the situation, it happened. I can go look for the check in the morning, you know? And I gotta, I just gotta let it go and trust and

Karen Kenney:

trust that it's gonna be okay. So that's what I did. Now, here's where it's, it's important to, like, kind of dip into the spiritual side of this, because I have had a

Karen Kenney:

DSP, a daily spiritual practice, for a wicked long time. I am not saying I am perfect at this, but I am getting better and better and better with every passing day,

Karen Kenney:

every passing week, every passing month and year, of being able to place my mind where I want it. So I know a lot of people, especially those of us who can be prone to

Karen Kenney:

anxiety we're wicked good at, like replaying things in our head or obsessing about things, or our mind gets away from us and it drifts back to the thing that we said in the

Karen Kenney:

past, or we we time travel to the future. That's what I call it, time traveling, right? We time travel to the past and we replay shit that we're like, uh, why did I

Karen Kenney:

do that? Or say that? Or, Oh, my God, this awful thing happened. And then we also time travel into the future, and we get anxious and worried and nervous and blah, blah,

Karen Kenney:

blah, blah about shit that hasn't even happened yet, right? But so I've gotten better and better better over the years to be able to just kind of pull my mind back to

Karen Kenney:

the present moment and keep it where I want to keep it. And I know that worrying doesn't change shit. So I'm like, I'm not going to do that. So I was kind of proud of myself

Karen Kenney:

that I was able to do that, but I still felt a little bit bad, right? So this is the power of a DSP, and if you currently do not have a daily spiritual practice, it's one of

Karen Kenney:

the things we work on in the NES and in helping people to create a daily spiritual practice, a DSP that works for them, right? So, little note, little note to anybody

Karen Kenney:

listening who is curious about that. If you want to learn more about spiritual teams, if you want to, you know, learn more about having a DSP and deepening your your

Karen Kenney:

relationship to self, source and spirit, just go to Karen kenney.com/nest, and you can join my spiritual mentoring group program. Okay? And we're back, and we're

Karen Kenney:

done with the ad, and we're back. Okay? So I was able to, just like, you know, get a good night's sleep, not have it stress me out, whatever. Okay, the next morning, right? I

Karen Kenney:

get a phone call and it's like, you know, it's a little bit past night, whatever time it was, I don't remember the time, and all of a sudden I'm like, I don't recognize the

Karen Kenney:

number. I never answer my phone when I don't recognize the number, unless I'm getting a call, like, but, but most phone numbers, even if I'm expecting a call, say, from my

Karen Kenney:

veterinarian or whatever, I have their name in there, so I recognize the name. So this is a conquered number, right? Conquered New Hampshire. And for some reason, I'm like,

Karen Kenney:

pick it up, which I never do, right? So that's number one. I'm like, pick it up. Okay, I follow, I follow that nudge right from my spiritual team. I'm like, hello, and

Karen Kenney:

they say, Hey Karen, it's so and so, right? And I'll just, I'll just call this person Julie, okay? And I'm like, Hey Julie, like and I had bumped into them at the bank,

Karen Kenney:

like, a while ago. They work. They used to. They this person used to work at my What do you call those branch, my bank branch in Loudon. Then they cut it, they shut it down,

Karen Kenney:

that branch. And then now this person is like a manager in conquered or whatever, and I'm like, Oh, my God. But when I ran into them at the bank, they had asked me about

Karen Kenney:

yoga, so I had just sent out an email the day before saying we have a new yoga session that's starting. So I'm like, okay, 5050, this could be about yoga, or could it

Karen Kenney:

possibly be about the check, right? Like, I didn't know what was gonna happen. So I'm like, Hey Julie, right? I'm doing air quotes, not, not a real name. I said, what's

Karen Kenney:

going on? She's like, Well, I happen to have a check here with your name on it. And I was like, cut the shit. And I was like, what? And this is what they said. To me, we have a

Karen Kenney:

gentleman who comes to the bank. He's developmentally disabled, right? These are her words. I'm just telling you what she said, He's developmentally disabled, and he

Karen Kenney:

found this check on the ground, and he just wanted to make sure that nothing bad happened. Okay? So I'm standing there over it flexible, like at my day gig, right? My

Karen Kenney:

I'm in a sling, like, hearing this news, and I'm like, what? First of all, first of all, the fact that this check was found remarkable, the fact that this person wanted

Karen Kenney:

to be helpful and did the right thing. Like, doubly, like, Oh, my God. So I continue, and I say, Okay, I'm like, but so now I'm trying to figure out the math, because I never

Karen Kenney:

looked at the check the student, the yoga student, handed me the check folded in half. I literally put it in my pocket. So I'm now going, like, okay, and I say to her, so I

Karen Kenney:

have a TD Bank account, but that's not on the check. I said, was it a TD Bank check? Does my yoga student have a TD Bank Account? Is that why this man brought it there? And

Karen Kenney:

she says, No, it's a Santander account, but he just found it. But this is his bank, so he brought it here. And I'm like, oh my god, so this is number three. Like, holy shit.

Karen Kenney:

Not even like the odds, the odds. Then I say to her, did he hand the check to you? And she goes, yeah, he handed it to me. I happen to be out front, because, remember, she's a

Karen Kenney:

manager, handed it to me, and I look down and I see the name, and I think to myself, I know a Karen Kenney. So she says to the guy, thank you so much, right? I know Karen. I'll

Karen Kenney:

take care of it. She goes. And at first, I mean, she goes, I she goes. Then I looked down to the memo section on the check, and I saw that it said, drop in class, so I knew

Karen Kenney:

it had to be you. So then she calls me, you guys, let me. Let me just tell you something. I'm sitting here and I'm thinking, I'm literally doing this the math

Karen Kenney:

in my head, and I go, I'm like, Julie, this is sto TJ, this is what I'm talking about. This is spiritual team on the job. I said, I literally thought in my head the night

Karen Kenney:

before, like, it's gonna take, like, a miracle. There's gonna have to be an act of God, right? Like, I'm like, the planets would have to align, and I'm gonna need to

Karen Kenney:

get Now look, and of course, in miracles, we say that a miracle is a shift in perception from fear to love. Okay, we're not talking miracle the way that a lot of traditions

Karen Kenney:

think of it, like walking on water and like putting your hands on people and healing them, but like, what becomes possible when the mind is in a place of love is

Karen Kenney:

miraculous. Is miraculous. So I sat saying to her, I'm like, I'm like, Julie, this is like, S, T, o, t, J, I go do the math with me. Do the math with me. One I lose this

Karen Kenney:

check, and I don't know where I lose it. I don't know if I lose it at the yoga studio in the yoga studio parking lot. I'm like, My sweetie and I checked my car. We couldn't

Karen Kenney:

find it anywhere. I'm like, the only other place I could have left it is at the vegan pizza place, right? And I'm like, first of all that somebody found it. It was wet and

Karen Kenney:

rainy. I'm like, the for they find it and they do the right thing, then they bring it to your bank, where I have an account, even though it's not like, I'm like, that's

Karen Kenney:

number three, number four, he gave it to you. Number five. You recognize the name. Like, I guess go down the thing. I was like, This is so fantastic, and I'm gonna tell you

Karen Kenney:

guys why. Besides it being a great story, here's why it's fantastic. People will often say to me, like, after all the awful things that have happened in your life, all the

Karen Kenney:

trauma, all the dramas, all the things in your childhood, blah blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. How is it that you have such deep faith? And I have always said, Now, look,

Karen Kenney:

faith is considered. How do I say this? Faith is considered? Usually it's described as believing in something without having proof, right? It's like, kind of just like,

Karen Kenney:

I believe in it, because I just do, like, this is my belief system, right? I haven't, maybe seen it with my own eyes, but I have faith that x, y and z, okay, but I have

Karen Kenney:

often responded to people. Part of why I have faith, it's not just blind faith. It's not just like, Oh, I was raised a Catholic kid or Oh, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,

Karen Kenney:

right?

Karen Kenney:

I've been a yoga teacher for so long. I've had a meditation all these things, Course in Miracles. Student, yeah, that's part of it. And, and it's not blind faith. I have just

Karen Kenney:

way too much evidence and proof that some. Thing, something loves me. Now, look, people get really weird around the God word, right? The G word, I'm doing little air quotes, the

Karen Kenney:

G word, right? I don't care what you call it. I don't care if you call it God, source, the creator, love capital, G, goodness, Jesus, Mother Nature, higher power,

Karen Kenney:

universe, good vibe. I don't care what you call it. I am comfortable with all those names. I don't get hung up on the names. As a spiritual mentor, I'm interested in people

Karen Kenney:

developing their own personal relationship to whatever they happen to, I always say, insert your happy word here, whatever you happen to, call it highest self. I don't

Karen Kenney:

care what you call it. However, here's what I know to be true. Throughout my lifetime, I have found that most people, I'm not going to say all because some people, some people,

Karen Kenney:

and this is a little side by something I've seen, which is I find really fascinating, is that a lot of people have quote, unquote, faith until something awful happens to them

Karen Kenney:

or their family, and then they sat blaming God. And all that faith gets questioned and out the window and whatever. Now I'm not saying they shouldn't question that

Karen Kenney:

everybody's personal relationship with the divine is their relationship. I'm not judging anything. I think that. I've just always been very clear that the awful things

Karen Kenney:

that have happened in this lifetime, like my mother being murdered, etc, etc, were done at the hands of men. It had nothing to do with God, right? So I just believe this is

Karen Kenney:

my faith. I just believe that something loves me, and I don't care what people call it. And some people can call that naive. Some people can call that Pollyannaish. Some

Karen Kenney:

people can just call that like, whatever they want to call it. I don't care. This is just my belief, and I'm not here to tell anybody what to believe. But there's

Karen Kenney:

something that I have found that over the years, people who do have some sort of faith system, whether they they entered that through AA and recovery, or they came up in

Karen Kenney:

a certain religion, or they found yoga later in life, or a meditation practice, or whatever it is, right? It's a little bit easier I have found for people to navigate

Karen Kenney:

this human, this being, human experience and all that it entails when they have something to lean on, when they have a DSP, a daily spiritual practice, or a community, a

Karen Kenney:

spiritual community, or, you know, some sort of spiritual reading, or books that they have available to them, or they go to church, or they whatever. I have found that

Karen Kenney:

when people have something like a schwaran, my meditation teacher says that, like, part of what spiritual practice does is it helps us to discover and create within ourselves,

Karen Kenney:

that Sanctum Sanctorum, that place within us that can never be disturbed no matter how rough things get out there, that is our place. Of like installing internal

Karen Kenney:

stabilizes, he called it. So this, to me, is like when all these things start to happen, like again, I can go down the list, I lose the check. The check is found by a person

Karen Kenney:

who is so sweet and has such integrity, right? And then they bring it to the bank, and it happens to be my bank, and it happens to be a person who knows my name, like the

Karen Kenney:

whole thing, I just stopped laughing and laughing and laughing. Sto TJ, something is looking out for me. Something loves me, whether that makes me kooky or whatever,

Karen Kenney:

that's fine. This is what I believe, and it's such a fantastic experience. And look, I've just had too much evidence, right? Too much evidence. That's why the name of my

Karen Kenney:

memoir, The working title right now, is evidence. I've just too much, too much in my lifetime that I can't deny it. And so maybe you've had an experience like this. Maybe

Karen Kenney:

you've had your own sto TJ moments or moment, I know a ton of my my members in the nest will, like, literally, daily, whatever, whatever we have a call. They'll be like, S,

Karen Kenney:

T, o, t, j, and like they, they'll say data. Now look at, I would love, like, literally, I love hearing these kinds of stories. And like I said, I know some people consider

Karen Kenney:

them synchronicity. Some people call them universal signs, right? I don't care what we call them. I just think it's really fun when they happen. The other thing I'm going to

Karen Kenney:

say about this is what also happens when people join the nasto work with me, one to one in spiritual mentoring, they'll start to say things to me like, oh my god, like, S,

Karen Kenney:

T, o, t, J is really on the job lately. This happened. This happened. This happened, this happened. And what I will often say to them is like, look, let's be realistic. It's not

Karen Kenney:

like all of a sudden your spiritual team has. Gotten better at their job. It's that you're finally slowing down and you're being more present, and you're able to witness

Karen Kenney:

what has been happening, the love that has been there all along. I think of it as like, kind of like extending your antenna, like getting better reception, right? That's what

Karen Kenney:

I think of the lot, a lot of the work that I do does not only helping people to kind of transform those old stories, those old patterns, those old ways of being, like

Karen Kenney:

coaching both the conscious and subconscious mind. It's also like, kind of giving them access. And of course, in miracles, we talk about it like, not you know, it says, like

Karen Kenney:

the famous line, your task is not to seek for love. Your task is to seek and to find. And I always add and remove the blocks, the barriers that you have built against your

Karen Kenney:

own awareness of love's presence. That's what spiritual work, to me is. This is what personal development work is. It's not about becoming something. It's about removing the

Karen Kenney:

blocks to who you already are, to returning home, to the truth of yourself, removing the blocks to your own awareness of love's presence, knowing that you are loved and

Karen Kenney:

lovable and capable of loving, and that you are loved by something. Isn't that fantastic? I mean, I think moving through the day. And I was saying on my we on the

Karen Kenney:

nest call that we had the other night, we were talking about some things, and I said, You know what one of the things that has helped me all throughout my life is, and

Karen Kenney:

especially when, especially when I might be making a choice or a decision or something that my in a teacher is guiding me to do. And whether we call that in a teacher,

Karen Kenney:

divine intelligence, Holy Spirit, spirit, I don't care what we call it, right, intuition, instinct, but when my in a teacher in spirit is like whispering to me

Karen Kenney:

and saying, Hey, this is something you have to do, especially when I know it might disappoint somebody else, or somebody else might get their panties in a bunch or be

Karen Kenney:

upset or whatever. And of course, I always try to be mindful when I'm making these decisions. But one of the things I've often said is, even if nobody else understands why

Karen Kenney:

I'm doing this, even if nobody else gets it, even if everybody else gets mad at me, I'm like, God loves me. God loves me. That might be for you, something loves me. And so I

Karen Kenney:

have always found that so calming, not just for my hat, right, like my emotional hat, but also for my literally, my physical nervous system, to know that I'm always

Karen Kenney:

being held and that something greater than me is guiding me and will always be there for me. And that, to me, is one of the most beautiful things about having a DSP and

Karen Kenney:

deepening your relationship to self, source and spirit, is that it goes beyond just the very superficial, right. It goes deep into who we are, how we are, how we're showing up

Karen Kenney:

in the world, who we are being, right, who we are being. And this is why I say like it goes beyond just the superficial, like the mala beads and the rosaries and the all the

Karen Kenney:

little tools, right, the tarot cards and the readings and the Palo Santo. What do you call that stuff? You know, the stuff, the totally having a menopause brain moment. I

Karen Kenney:

can see it in my mind, incense and the incense, right? Like all those things, those to me, beautiful and lovely, and they enhance things, right? They create tone and

Karen Kenney:

mood and and vibe and like they're a pot. They can be a part of our process, right? Using your mala beads when you maybe chant your mantra, or using your rosary rosary

Karen Kenney:

beads if you say the Hail Mary or whatever, these are all helpful tools. They're tools to remind us, though, of who we already are. They're pathways back to remembering

Karen Kenney:

ourselves, to wholeness and holiness. But they're just the tool. They're not the thing. They're a tool, right? And they're helpful tools for a lot of people. But also

Karen Kenney:

what's helpful is recognizing when all these things are lining up. When stotj is on the job, you get that little dopamine hit of like, Oh, something today is working right

Karen Kenney:

on my behalf. And that's not to say and this is where it gets tricky. I

Karen Kenney:

just want to say this because this is wicked important before I wrap up this this session, it can be really tricky when we use language like, oh, you know, God was looking

Karen Kenney:

out for me, and then it's like, well, what does that mean that God isn't looking out for all the people who are going through these awful storms. Like in Florida and, you

Karen Kenney:

know, all across the world, the wars and the stuff like that. I don't, I don't say that like, I don't like to use language that way, because I think it can be a very

Karen Kenney:

insensitive, entitled, kind of ignorant way to like talk about things. I don't mean this in a I don't mean this in a disparate, disparaging way. I do though, like to

Karen Kenney:

acknowledge when enough things in the universe align that something seems miraculous. I think it's also important to not turn away from those moments of bright

Karen Kenney:

light. You know what I mean? So that's what I have to say about it. I hope you enjoyed the story. I hope it in some way, like, made you, you know, think about a time in your

Karen Kenney:

life when maybe, like, enough things lit up, like, boom, boom, boom, and you were like, oh my god, S T, o, t, J, spiritual team on the job. So I just thought that was fun, and

Karen Kenney:

you might enjoy it, and it might also explain a little bit more about how I think about things. So you guys, thank you for tuning in. If you're new here, I appreciate
