It's Not About The Pasta
Let’s be honest, it’s not really about the pasta.
Whenever we find ourselves upset or not at peace - it helps to recognize that it’s often not about that thing. It was actually about all the built up hurt, anger, frustration or needs that have not been met within us.
If we’re willing to be honest, sometimes we lose our cool over the smallest shit and to the person on the receiving end - it seems like we’ve lost our ever loving mind. Ha!
When the reality is that leading up to this moment in time, we’ve been pushing down, shoving into the cupboard or closets of our bodies and minds, all of our internal frustrations. Stuff has been building up and the emotional landmine has been set.
Only to one day, have something that seems insignificant such as “the pantry being out of pasta” - trigger us, push a button or set us off. BOOM! And Lord help the poor suckers or accused that lie in our wake or stand in our way.
Today on The Karen Kenney Show, we’re taking a look at what it means to be really open and honest about how we’re feeling “along the way” and dealing with them as things come up - rather than holding it all in until we literally explode all over the next person that happens to walk into the room.
Sometimes, when we're unhappy or suffering, we think it's about the thing that just happened or the button that got pushed by someone else, but it's not. It's almost never about that or them. In order to heal and deepen our relationships with ourselves and others, we have to be vulnerable, take ownership and delve more deeply into the heart of things, so we can recognize that at the end of the day - it’s not about the pasta.
